Google Forms are paperless auto-grading quizzes. This means there’s no printing involved and the grading is done for you!
Having access to Google Classroom isn’t required to use Google Forms, but it does make keeping track of grades a simple task.
I am going to go over the basics of how to assign a quiz and where to go to view the grades. I will also show how to view the grades when you’re using a different online platform such as Microsoft Teams or SeeSaw.
Create the Quiz or a Copy of a Quiz
The first step is to add a quiz to your Google Drive account. You may create your own or create a copy of a quiz that you’ve purchased.
Create the Assignment
Now that your quiz is in your Google Drive, go to Google Classroom and create an assignment. Make sure Grade Importing is highlighted.
Viewing the Grades using Google Classroom
Once students submit their quiz, you will be able to view their scores. Go to Classwork, click on view assignment and then click the import grades button. The video below shows the steps.
What if I’m not using Google Classroom?
If you’re using Google Forms with Microsoft Teams or any other online platform, you will need to follow the following steps.
- Login to your Google Drive account
- Locate the Google Forms Quiz
- Click the Responses Tab
- Download the SpreadSheet
What if I can’t view the Responses Tab?
If for some reason you can’t view the responses tab, click on the pencil icon on the bottom right of the Google Forms. That will allow you to edit it and view the scores.

Is there a way to have it where students can reattempt the quiz multiple times? Or will it import their highest score?
Mrs. Santillana
It depends.
If they are logged-in to their google account, they will only be allowed to complete the test once. If you want a student to re-take the test, you can simply delete their first response.
If you are using these Google Forms without logging in to Google, students are able to take this an unlimited number of times. Google will not take the highest school. It will keep all of the attempts.

But what if they have turned it in how do you see what they did
