This 4th grade fractions assessment checks students’ mastery of every skill taught in Unit 4: Fractions. The assessment includes a wide variety of problem types—visual models, number lines, equivalent fractions, comparing fractions, adding & subtracting fractions, mixed numbers, decomposing fractions, word problems, and multiplying fractions by whole numbers.
Students will:
• Identify fractional parts using area models, sets, and number lines
• Generate and compare equivalent fractions
• Represent fractions and decimals including tenths and hundredths
• Use number bonds to decompose fractions
• Add and subtract fractions and mixed numbers using visual models or equations
• Find products of fractions × whole numbers
• Solve multi-step real-world word problems involving fractions
• Write answers in simplest form and convert to mixed numbers when needed
