Cootie catchers (also known as chatterboxes or fortune tellers) are foldable paper games that students open and close with their fingers to reveal answers or prompts. They make fact practice hands-on, interactive, and self-checking—perfect for math centers, partner games, and quick review.
How to Play – Skip Counting & Fortunes Version
• Choose a word and open/close the cootie catcher while spelling it.
• Choose a prompt and skip count as directed (e.g., “Skip count by 5s to 40.”).
• Lift the flap to read the fortune or message.
How to Play – Fast Facts Version
• Choose a word/number on the outside and open/close while spelling or counting.
• Choose an inside number and repeat as students solve the fact.
• Lift the flap to check the answer.
