This teacher-led small-group activity includes a printable math mat and 12 task cards where students create and analyze simple budgets while making decisions about spending, saving, and donating money.
Students will:
• calculate total income from allowances, earnings, and gifts
• categorize expenses, savings, and donations in a simple budget
• determine whether a budget is balanced
• analyze what happens when expenses exceed income
• recommend ways to adjust spending, saving, or donating to balance a budget
