Lesson 2.1: Classifying Triangles
This teacher-led small-group activity includes a printable math mat (with triangle models and classification spaces) and 12 editable task cards for hands-on geometry practice.
Students will:
• classify triangles by side length (equilateral, isosceles, scalene)
• classify triangles by angle measure (acute, right, obtuse)
• identify and analyze triangle attributes such as equal sides and angle measures
• determine when triangles belong to more than one category
• explain how triangle attributes determine their classification
